The department is concerned with teaching clinical pharmacy courses that aim to provide the student with applied information that qualifies him to provide better services to patients, which contributes to raising the level of health care in general and the proper use of medicine in particular. This includes meeting the patient, following up on the drug treatment, providing advice and health guidance to the patient regarding the correct method and optimal use of the drug, and ensuring that there are no drug interactions. The clinical pharmacist also provides the doctor, the patient, and the nursing staff with basic drug information that will make the work of the treating medical team successful in performing its mission.
The department teaches a number of theoretical and practical courses that aim to provide the student with primary information about diseases, their causes, symptoms, development, methods of prevention and treatment, as well as identifying methods of treating diseases and discussing the therapeutic effect of different drugs through a correct understanding of drug kinetics and the significance of the results of clinical tests and the ability to identify Side effects and toxicity of drugs.
The department trains students in the field of clinical pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, and drug and poison information centers through intensive practical programs in teaching hospitals and other locations where the pharmacist practices work in scientifically correct ways.
