The analysis of pharmaceutical preparations is of paramount importance in the pharmaceutical industry, as the analysis aims to ascertain the standard specifications of these preparations and to know the extent to which these preparations comply with the pharmacopoeia and thus maintain the patient’s health. Since the beginning of the twentieth century, the science of pharmaceutical analytical chemistry has been witnessing a rapid development, so it was necessary for the Faculty of Pharmacy, Ain Shams University to keep pace with this massive and continuous development by developing curricula and study plans for the courses of the Department of Pharmaceutical Analytical Chemistry and paying attention to practical training on them, as well as adding courses that are exposed to good pharmaceutical manufacturing methods The study is not limited only to the analysis of medicines, but also extends to environmental studies and the analysis of food and cosmetics. When a student joins the Faculty of Pharmacy, he begins to learn the basics of analytical chemistry by identifying the different methods of qualitative analysis and then the traditional methods of quantitative analysis. which is characterized by accuracy, speed and extreme sensitivity.

Our mission aims to provide a specialized trained cadre in different analytical chemistry fields, who can cope with the rapid progress in analytical chemistry on the national and international levels, and participate in research, quality control, and community services. The department is always keen to provide the latest instruments and equipment necessary for progress in the field.
